As the sun sizzled, corks popped and the festival of bubbles took off on this Grand Prix of weekends. Building on the success of last year’s event still sparkling in people’s minds, the open-air festival of bubbles was here again, for four sun-soaked days.

Due to the extreme heat, the weather service has issued a second-level, orange warning in the country until Saturday night. Warnings about expected thunderstorms and downpours in certain counties have been withdrawn. According to forecasts, temperatures will likely be between 30ºC and 35ºC during the afternoons and 21-27 ºC during the evenings.

Budapest’s open-air 'Festival of Bubbles' is on from today, Thursday, until Sunday evening. 25 exhibitors are there with more than 100 bubbly beverages, including champagne, prosecco and many varieties of sparkling wine.
