The annual Belvárosi Festival is being held between 26 – 28 May, for the 11th time in 2017, all around downtown districts Belváros - Lipótváros. To mark the start of the Shakespeare season, the Hungarian State Opera will host Shakespeare400+ festival in honour the esteemed playwright. This year, 17 adaptations will be presented in four different venues (the Opera House, Erkel Theatre, Music Academy and Müpa), including popular plays like Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
