The all-star cast of Lee Hall and Elton John's Billy Elliot – The Musical has returned to the Erkel Theatre. The most prominent Hungarian permieres of the summer of 2016 featured many popular stage actors who will reprise their roles this summer accompanied by a new generations of children.

A real international crafts festival, the Festival of Folk arts will welcome its guests for the 30th time between the 18th and the 21st of August. Being true to the tradition, the venue remains the Buda Castle and its surroundings, however due to building works in the Castle there will be a few changes.

The final premiere of the 2016/17 Hungarian State Opera is an exciting world premiere. Tennessee Williams' most acclaimed work, A Streetcar Named Desire is transformed into a modern dance drama on the stage of the Erkel Theatre. It is also principal ballet master Marianna Venekei’s first full-length choreography.
