Metro M2 Will Not Serve Kossuth Tér For 3 Months

For a period of about three months from the start of this December, metro line M2 will not serve the Kossuth Lajos tér M in either direction, due to the demolition of the MTESZ building. From Deák Ferenc tér, Kossuth Lajos tér can be reached by replacement bus M2A. Additionally, BKK provides a new shuttle-boat service, line D2 between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér.

As of today, no direct trains will depart from Budapest bound for Western Europe, Hungarian State Railways MÁV said in an announcement this morning, according to news agency MTI. Those leaving the country must transfer at a station near the border, and passport checks that can weed out refugees are expected at those border stations.

Pesti, a physician, argued that most of the migrants come from war zones where even basic health conditions are not in place and that the long road they travel to Hungary can further harm their health.
