Sony Pictures Classics has acquired US distribution rights to the Hungarian film competing for the Palme d’Or, "Son of Saul". The distribution agreement was signed by the film’s international distributor, Films Distribution, at the Cannes Film Festival, film magazine Variety reported.

The Baptist Charity’s five-member rescue team returned from earthquake-hit Nepal on Monday, after helping victims there for several days. Team leader László Pavelcze said after arriving at Liszt Ferenc International Airport that they had taken 18,000 euros worth of aid to Nepal where they were assisting the medical staff and providing health services to 300 people.

A team of medics from Debrecen University will leave for earthquakehit Nepal on Wednesday to help the victims, the head of the team said. They will take with them 30 million forints (EUR 100,000) worth of medical equipment and aid, medicine, as well as technology helping satellite communication, András Késmárky told MTI.

Four Hungarians were injured in Saturday’s earthquake in Nepal and are receiving treatment at a church-run hospital, Foreign Affairs Minister Péter Szijjártó told reporters in Budapest on Tuesday. Another two of the 44 Hungarians known to be in Nepal on Saturday have not been contacted directly. Eighteen Hungarians have left Nepal since the disaster.

My sympathies go out to those who have seen their homes destroyed or damaged, and who will now have the hard task of cleaning up and rebuilding their lives,” Áder wrote.

Violence against nurses is frequent in Hungary, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Monday. Only 13% of nurses say they have not experienced some form of aggression. A survey commissioned by the professional college of nurses involving interviews with 2,420 nurses found that 51% had experienced up to two instances of violence while an additional 29% reported two or more.
