Teachers’ wages will rise by 3.5% in September this year based on the teacher career model, László Palkovics, the public education state secretary, said. The wage increase means teachers will receive between 3,000 forints (EUR 10) and 15,000 (EUR 48) forints more each month depending on seniority, Palkovics said, noting that the government has continuously increased teacher’s wages since 2013.

Under the agreement, the monthly minimum wage for unskilled workers next year will rise to gross 111,000 forints (EUR 353.6) and skilled workers will get 129,000 forints (EUR 411).
