The internet database with the Historical Maps of the Habsburg Empire is now completed, and was introduced in the Archives of Budapest. The website contains the most important maps presenting Budapest from the 18th to the second half of the 20th century.
1000 Foreigners Use Same Address To Vote In Hungarian Elections

Roughly a thousand foreigners have given the address of a 40-bed motel in Budapest’s 19th district as their permanent place of residence in the run-up to Sunday’s municipal elections, according to left-wing daily Népszabadság. The majority are Romanian citizens but a number of Slovaks have also registered the Viktória Pension as their permanent place of Hungarian residence.

US President Barack Obama’s recent remarks suggesting that the Hungarian government had placed restrictions on civil organisations “lack any factual basis”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on its website on Wednesday. “Hungarians are a freedom-loving people and as such would not tolerate any restriction of their freedoms,” the ministry said in a statement.
