"To commemorate World Water Day (March 22), the American Corner Budapest and the U.S. Embassy have organized the “Beauty of Water - East Coast Rain” photo exhibition. The photos portrayed various scenes from the U.S. East Coast related to water: rainy city shots from New York City, small American towns on lakes, Niagara Falls, and so on. The unifying theme was the beauty of water.

Frederick Sweet was born in New York City of Hungarian parents (both from Budapest) who had immigrated to the United States before World War II. Since Hungarian was spoken at home, Sweet acquired it as a second language.

The royal Danish capital has just been crowned the best city in the world for quality of life. Copenhagen grabbed top spot for its cutting-edge design credentials amongst other factors including the number of cinema screens and ease of getting a quality glass of wine at 1am.

Also included in this trip, booked via the helpful staff at the Sheraton Moriah Tel Aviv, was a journey to Bethlehem. The ‘City of Jesus’, proved to be equally amazing as expected. As these days it’s under the control of the Palestinian National Authority we left our Israeli guide behind and met up with a friendly Arab who showed us around this town of just 27,000 inhabitants.
