Everyone marooned themselves at home, with no idea how long self-isolation from the approaching Covid-19 would last.

Choosing the right kindergarten is not easy even in one’s own native country. Naturally expats with young children who move to Budapest for work reasons are concerned about providing their little ones with quality education that is at least as good as in their home countries.

Xpat Wine Club held its spring event at Veritas Wine Bar on Friday 27 April, with the usual mix of new and veteran expats from a range of countries as well as Hungarians, all lubricated by that truth-promoting tipple. As at all Xpat Wine Club events, the atmosphere was open and friendly, easing the way to make new contacts and relationships, both business and personal.

Hungary’s biggest arts festival, the 27th Valley of Arts will take place between the 21st and 30th of June in Kapolcs, Vigántpetend and Taliándörögd. Budapest Pride Festival began on 3 July with the official opening ceremony! This year’s motto "Empowered by 20 years” allows us take a look back at the past two decades of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) tradtions, and refers to the power of the community, its (self) organization and presence, which can be the only way to achieve equal rights and social justice.
