Flamencocktail is an experience that does not come from alcoholic drinks but from other ingredients causing high spirits.

A special feature of the performance is that the artists mix a new world of tastes on each occasion by using the same ingredients but by changing the proportions. Many times, these experiments alsoproduce unexpected excitements.

Our performance in July was a light cocktail, especially composed for a summer evening, and better attached to the authentic world of flamenco. However, we are going to shake a more adventurous cocktail for our New Year’s Eve performance.

Ingredients for the shake: invigorating rhythms, magic melodies, ethereal sounds, fiery dancers and exploding energy.

Similarly to jazz, flamenco is a genre with several branches, it can adopt other instruments and connect with other genres. It is based on the participants’ communication and becomes so exciting and special on every occasion because it always offers the opportunity to play with improvisations.

The dancer not only performs the work - which has no sheet music - but also acts as its hidden conductor and creator through gestures and foot tapping. The actors of the performance are internationally acknowledged artists and prominent representatives of Latin jazz, world music, classical music and flamenco.

Flamenco is an important art of dance of our time, it is flourishing these days and in 2010 UNESCO decided to make it a part of the Cultural World Heritage.

In Hungary this genre is represented in a unique manner by Andrea Lippai and Zsófia Pirók, mother and daughter, dancers and choreographers of the FlamenCorazónArte Dance Theatre.
