Mongooz And The Magnet, founded in Pécs in 2014, are possibly the most multicultural band in Hungary. There are few groups in the country where half of the members are foreign citizens. Mongooz, formed by three medical students, are one such band. The modern blues, soul, funk and rock music of the Norwegan, Irish and Hungarian quartet has made a splash not just in Hungary but around the world.
They will bring a mature sound and plenty of followers to Müpa Budapest in their quest to build a bridge between people of different nations.
The main inspiration for the band remains blues and soul and the music of Jimi Hendrix, which they have listened to ever since they were children. Yet the boys will be operating in a hitherto completely unknown field for this truly special performance: during this largely acoustic production, they will add some synthetic sounds to transform their original songs.
The evening's special guests iamyank, Gábor Novai (Mörk) and Levente Boros (The Qualitons) will set the show on a very different trajectory than usual with the help of a limitless array of synthesized and programmed sounds.
