From the organiser:
Come join us Tuesday September 21 at 7PM. Whether you have breast cancer or know someone who has, all supporters are welcome!
After receiving my initial diagnosis in March, I was immediately flooded with information (mostly in Hungarian) and had very little time to review my options. As an expat, I understand the importance of having access to essential services in English.
In collaboration with Mellrakinfo, the goal of this event and future events is to advocate for more English-speaking services for women with breast cancer, including access to medical translators.
I’ll be speaking about my own experience; I opted to have my mastectomy with immediate reconstruction in the US, and radiation in Budapest.
I’ll also be happy to answer any questions in hopes that through an open dialogue we can continue to spread awareness.
