"MC David Treyford opened with one of the funnier jokes of the evening comparing access signs on the underground to those that could be hung on the female body.

Opening act Barry the Expat had some bad luck with the European Swim Championships unexpectedly shooting off 10 minutes of fireworks next door in the middle of his act. He cannot be blamed for losing his train of thought, and you have to hand it to him, he professionally troopered on longer than I thought possible given the circumstances.

There were also a couple hecklers in the audience. Some people claim that heckling is part of the show, an art in itself. Bollocks. How many of us actually have the courage to do stand-up comedy? No matter how good or bad, they deserve our respect for being that brave, and doing it for our entertainment.

Paul Foot's zany style of offbeat and physical comedy had me laughing so much that I had tears in my eyes, and on several occasions Rachel whispered to me to "swallow" because I was almost choking on my beer.

Sometimes his posing and use of the stage was as funny as his jokes. His routines on homosexual babies, babies on board, beer drinking men, hackers and moist cake were great. I hope Baby Blue Banana can book him again.
Next up is Jim Tavare on September 14th.

Held outside at the Sziget Klub Terasz on Margit Island, the mosquitoes were plentiful but not hungry. However, the bar was not as friendly as the mosquitoes, since they did bite. 1210 huf for a rose froccs! They pulled the same crap as Red Cafe did last week by charging for a bottle of mineral water rather than using soda water, and included an automatic tip.

Organiser Howard Cohen was kind enough to check it out, and the bar in addition claimed that their rose was good expensive stuff - but I know my wines and vineyards and it was cheap from a nothing vineyard. I saw the label. Anyway, this was a bad stain on an otherwise great evening."
