'The Creation' - Through The Eyes Of Hungarian Children Exhibition, Palace Of Arts Budapest
“Creation, when nothingness is replaced by the all-encompassing universe through the will of God, is one of the fundamental doctrines of the Jewish and Christian faiths. This topic was not only a source of inspiration for Haydn, but it is an issue that makes every one of us wonder: Where do we come from, what are we, and where are we going?

After we talked about the six days of creation, listened to the music, my third-graders were quick to point out the crux of the issue: “God is the most creative of all. He came up with everything, we only copy what he created.”

Before they made their drawings, the children first did their own research: they looked at photos and recordings of animals, plants, and scenery. Then everyone chose a day, and while listening to Haydn’s music, but still relying on their own imagination they put their own vision of creation on paper.

The children made 50x70 cm drawings using pastel, aquarelle, acrylic and combined painting techniques. I hope you will enjoy their work, and through their art let us wish you a happy new year and lots of creative energy! - Angéla Vincze, Painter, Art Teacher"
