EU Group Fights To Maintain Subsidies
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán joined his counterparts form 14 other EU member states in calling for the preservation of current levels of EU subsidies, at a meeting in Bratislava on Friday.

The 15 countries, known as the Friends of Cohesion, are those that joined the EU in 2004, as well as Greece, Portugal and Spain.
The statement is related to the 2014-20 EU budget plan, which EU heads of state and prime ministers are to approve at a special summit in Brussels in November. Current proposals call for a reduction in subsidies.

Orbán told reporters that Hungary needs at least as much investment and support in the next seven years as was available in the past seven years.
