Britannica International School Budapest Students Among The Best Scholars Of The World
Britannica International School, Budapest won the first prize in the World Scholar's Cup when taking part in its regional round in Prague on Saturday 16 March. Britannica students, Balazs Somogyi, Zsófia and Valentin Kapitany succeeded in not only gaining 15 medals, but winning the Senior Division's Overall Champion Team trophy!

This was the School's first participation in the WSC tournament (17 teams) and they competed against students from the Prague British School, English College in Prague, the Bavarian International School (München), the British School of Bucharest, SEK Budapest International School, Antonin Sisters School (Lebanon), EG L. Stoyanov (Bulgaria).

On top of achieving this amazing result, the team qualified for the Global Round of the World Scholar's Cup in Dubai this coming June.

The World Scholar's Cup is a premier international academic tournament with students participating from over 40 countries. It has attracted what it calls "a global community of future scholars and leaders", and promotes that it allows participants to "discover strengths and skills you never knew you had."

However, despite technically being a competition, The World Scholar's Cup focuses far more on bringing students from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today and the future.

The tournament is an exceptional opportunity for the students to demonstrate and measure their abilities and skills in a global context and also for Britannica International School to spread its reputation internationally and to prove what outstanding students they nurture and cater for.

In addition to the active participation worldwide, the School is planning to host the next European regional round (first time ever in Budapest) in Autumn 2013.

The Britannica WSC team would be grateful for any kind of sponsorships from companies that wish to support them both in their participation of the Global Round in Dubai as well as in the organisation of a successful international event in Budapest.
