Invitation: Tokaj-Hegyalja Market, Sunday, 14 April
Tokaj-Hegyalja Market, a popular artisan market held every second Sunday of the month at Disznókő, Tokaj. The market started in April 2012 and has grown to around 60 producers. This Sunday is a market day again, with focus on syrups, herbs, juices and a special wine tasting of wines from Tállya with László Alkonyi.

Since the market is here at the gateway to the Tokaj Wine Region wine is obviously an integral part. Discover the hidden treasures from Tállya this time from 11:00 or the wines of Disznókő estate from 13:00.

The market provides the opportunity for local artisans (all from the county plus a 40km radius) to promote and sell their wares without travelling a great distance.

Local craftsmen and women bring their handmade products: cheese and meats, jams and honeys, vinegars and oils, (organic) fruits and vegetables, spelt flour and pillows, bakery goods... pottery, soap, wooden toys, jewellery, clothes - and lots more!

This is also a showcase for locals and visitors alike to show some of the treasures available in the Tokaj Wine Region and the surrounding area, as well as their skilled creators.

As all markets, it deepens links between producer and consumer, facilitates feedback and exchange of knowledge. It is playing an important role in community building too.

The events such as live music, exhibitions and discussions all aim to deepen these connections, as well as educate in an informal and stimulating setting.
