Új Színház In Budapest Loses Popularity

The Új Színház theatre saw its audience numbers dwindle by 33% last year after the controversial appointment of György Dörner as artistic director. Budapest city council’s finance committee was informed on Tuesday that 20,000 fewer people saw Új Színház productions in 2012 than in 2011.
Mayor István Tarlós promised last year that he would review the appointment of Dörner. However, he refused to do so in February.
