3 Hungarian Films Win at LA Femme Film Festival's Europe Edition in Budapest
Three Hungarian films were among the recipients of awards at the LA Femme International Film Festival Europe (LAFIFFE) held in Budapest, the organisers said on Thursday.

The prestigious LA Femme International Film Festival is dedicated to celebrating and supporting women filmmakers. Founded in Los Angeles, it has been running for over two decades, championing female directors and their work.

The festival has expanded to Europe, with its inaugural LAFIFFE taking place in Budapest.

The Best Short Film Award went to Immortals, directed by Edit Nagyistok. A Special Jury Prize was granted in the student short film category to Anna Boglarka Varga's film You are gonna kill a deer!

And a special prize offered by Origo Studios went to the screenplay Forsaken, written by Fruzsina Fekete and Aron Horvath.

The Best Short Documentary winner, the American production Rocky's Story, was directed by Hungary-born Linda Marian.

During the festival, which ran from June 4 to 7, almost 80 films were screened, including eight internationally acclaimed works that were followed by roundtable discussions featuring Hungarian and international experts, producers, and studio executives.
