Hungary’s Socialists Call For International Election Observers
The Socialist Party has called on the government to do all it can to ensure the presence of as many international observers as possible in the April 6 parliamentary election. Socialist MP Vilmos Szabó said the election rules had been changed unilaterally to an extent that no parliamentary elections have been held under “such uneven conditions” since 1985.

He also said “Viktor Orbán and his team will do everything possible to protect their power”, and will not be stopped by either morality, basic democratic principles or the laws.

This is why the presence of observers from the OSCE and the European Union is necessary as they can guarantee the fairness and transparency of the elections, Szabó said.
