Hungarian Police Hunt For Human Traffickers
It is thought that the leaders of a human trafficking ring which lured Hungarians, many of them homeless, to Britain with the promise of work, and then treated them as slaves, are currently lying low in Hungary, Magyar Nemzet reports.

Authorities in the UK recently caught and jailed two members of the gang, which operated in West Yorkshire.

But it is now thought they were not the only people involved in organising the trafficking, and the others may be in Hungary. The authorities believe there were as many as fifty victims.

According to the testimony of several of them, they had been beaten regularly and kept in brutal conditions. Allan Doherty, the director of operations at Hope for Justice, told the paper that British detectives were in contact with Hungarian authorities.

Hungary’s National Police confirmed to the paper that they had shared information with authorities abroad in connection with the case.
