Hungary's Ombudsman Criticises Police Over Videos
Police in their crime prevention work should avoid blaming victims but should instead emphasise protection of their interests and dignity and simultaneously stress the indisputable undivided responsibility of perpetrators, Ombudsman László Székely said.

Székely made public a position to that effect after Baranya county police posted three videos in November aimed at preventing rape that many said appeared to blame the victims for being raped.

Over 5,000 people have signed an online petition stating that police should not blame victims for rape.
