Tõkés Stripped Of Romanian Honour
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has stripped MEP László Tõkés of his state decoration, the Star of Romania. Tõkés was given the honour for his role in the 1989 revolution by the previous President Traian Basescu.

Iohannis said the recipient of the decoration must respect the constitution of Romania.

A court ruled that Tõkés had questioned the constitution when he asked Hungary to play a protectors role with respect to Transylvania.
