Man Who Robbed Refugees Jailed
The Gyõr Court of Appeals on Wednesday upheld a ten-year prison sentence for a man who robbed Afghan refugees with a meat cleaver. The culprit, 41-year-old Ferenc Schaub, and an unidentified companion lured four Afghan men from Gyõr train station last June 9 and told them that he would take them to Vámosszabadi near the Slovak border.

However, the car stopped between Abda and Öttevény, where the four were ordered out of the car, and the accomplice threatened them with the cleaver while Schaub robbed them of their phones and cash, clothing, and toiletries to a value of Ft 400,000.

They then drove off and left the refugees, who walked on foot to report the matter to Gyõr police.
