Official: Hungary Should Speed Up EU Funding Transfers In Light Of Brexit
Hungary should speed up its drawdowns on European Union funding in light of Brexit, an official at the Human Resources Ministry said in Saturday’s issue of daily Magyar Idők.

Brussels will not be able to break off contracts signed earlier, state secretary Tamás Köpeczi-Bócz, who is in charge of EU development policy, told the paper.

The ministry plans to pay out 219 billion forints (EUR 690m) in subsidies for projects by the end of this year.

The targeted payments for operative programmes were up 10 billion forints at the end of June, he said.
