“A solution to the case is at hand,” Szilárd Németh of the ruling Fidesz party told reporters in the break of the committee’s closed-door meeting.

Németh insisted the police as an institution had been targeted. He added that the suspect was being uncooperative. Németh said that the two injured police officers were on the path of recovery and both remained in the police force.
