BKV May Face Shortage Of Bus Drivers
The Budapest public transport company BKV will be short of hundreds of bus drivers when additional replacement buses are put into service during the renewal of the M3 metro line, Unified Transport Union leader Gábor Nemes warned.

The problem, he said, is that there will be a 30% wage hike at state-owned bus companies such as Volán, but not at the city-owned BKV.

The union would like the BKV to approve wage hikes of 15% this year and 30% over several years, Nemes said, but the BKV has so far offered no increase at all.
