Suzuki Model Fails Emissions Tests
Software on Suzuki Vitara models – made exclusively in Esztergom – may illegally modify pollution tests, according to an investigation by the Dutch traffic authority RDW.

RDW turned the matter over to prosecutors, who will further investigate Suzuki, as well as makers of the Fiat Chrysler Grand Cherokee, after finding similar problems with that model.

RDW discovered high toxic emissions levels from the two vehicles while examining 16 car models.

Suzuki Motor admitted that its fuel consumption tests did not follow regular methodology but underlined that its internal audit did not find any fraud, for instance data manipulation.

RDW estimates that there are 42,000 Suzuki Vitaras in Europe.
