Hundreds Protest Against Mobile Dam
Hundreds of people held a demonstration against the mobile dam planned for the Római-part resort area in Budapest’s Third District on Sunday afternoon.

Organisers said the dam ought to be built farther from the river, as that would be safer and would preserve one of the city’s last remaining unspoiled areas along the Danube.

Last Wednesday, however, city council rejected a package of related proposals.

The activists would like city leaders to engage in substantive dialogue on the issue, and called for a feasibility study on their alternative proposal.
