State Institutions Get Electric Vehicles
- 22 Dec 2017 7:57 AM
Twenty-six electric vehicles were handed over to state institutions, such as the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Ambulance Service, at a ceremony. Economy Minister Mihály Varga said his ministry had cooperated with the Public Procurement Supply Directorate on a centralised order for 200 EVs this year.
Varga outlined measures the government has taken to raise the proportion of EVs on Hungary’s roads to 30% by 2030, including subsidies and tax breaks for EV buyers as well as support to build a network of EV charging stations across the country.
He noted that there are now more than 3,500 EVs in Hungary, nearly double the number just one year ago.
