WAMP Design Fair: 'Give What Matters', Millenáris, 10 December
- 7 Dec 2017 7:58 AM
At the second Sunday of December WAMP will continue its Christmas fair serial with more than 200 designer brands. The design fair will offer a wide range of inspirations and gift ideas for anyone who prefers giving personal and meaningful presents.
Those who love premium category pieces this time again will have a wide choice of designer bags of various styles. Bag designer Ilona Ács and her husband Gábor Pápai founded LAONI, a brand specialised in leather bags and accessories in 1998. This year the label has won the Ferenczy Noémi award, the highest honour of Hungarian design as well. Their pieces are known of timeless elegance, minimal design and bold colour-pairings.
Their collections include bags, cases, purses and leather accessories for various occasions, from casual and business to evening and special wears.
For those who are passionate for distinctive pieces we recommend the new jewellery collection of Ooh my deer by designer Fanni Sarkadi. Up to now Fanni, who originally studied jewellery design, has been known for designing clothes. With her first jewellery collection her long-time dream has come true. The silver, gold and rose shaded rings, earrings and decor pieces of OPIA by Ooh my deer are inspired by minimalism and timeless elegance.
For gathering ideas for a tasty Christmas meal check out the first recipe book of Éva Bezzegh called 12 – Twelve months published by Artbeet. The picturesque, impressive book presents seasonal salads featuring tastes of several cuisines from all over the world in a monthly approach. Its sophisticated visuals reflect the work of the young and talented graphic designer Eszter Laki. The amazing food, landscape and life portraits spanning through seasons that illustrate the pages are the artwork of photographer Renáta Török-Bognár.
Beyond designer pieces visitors can also try delicious take-away and eat-in meals made of high quality ingredients. Well-known stylist, Márk Lakatos has recently earned significant success on the field of gastronomy with his gastropub Lakatos Műhely located at the downtown food market at Hold Street. His food truck will take part at WAMP for the first time and will offer premium streetfood based on homemade recipes.
As part of the Christmas preparation visitors can take part at various workshops throughout the day. Led by Ági Franta, the designer of the lamp brand frantaagi, participants will prepare a starry Christmas light string out of shiny and matt papers between 11 am to 12 am and from 2 to 3 pm.
For taking part at the workshop please register previously at franta.agi@gmail.com, as on the spot you can only apply for remaining places. The workshop costs 5 900 HUF which contains all materials (10-led light string) and tools.
Furthermore you can also take part at the workshop of Recreativity where you can create recycled folders, wallets, and other creative accessories, whereas together with Furagura kreatív játszótér you can make unique Christmas gifts.
