Kurt Elling Concert, Mupa, 21 April

Kurt Elling is the world's number one male jazz singer, who has been voted singer of the year several times. He has released ten albums on his own, getting Grammy nominations for all of them, and winning one of the awards.
The material of his latest record, Passion World, is linked to the journeys of recent years: Elling selected songs (some of which he wrote new lyrics for) that all talk about the deepest emotions and vibrations of the human soul, regardless of where in the world they were written.
The programme of the related concert runs a wide gamut of styles and moods, from Brahms through Pat Metheny to U2, yet Kurt Elling's captivating character and exhilarating voice never allow the overall impression to become eclectic.
