Survey: Hungarians Most Optimistic About Economy Since 2014

Twice as many Hungarians said they were satisfied with the economic condition of the country than those who said they were dissatisfied, the survey shows.
In 2014, some 29% of respondents said they were happy with Hungary’s economic condition.
The same ratio stood at 43% in 2015, at 51% in 2016 and at 60% at the end of last year.
This shows that Hungarians appreciate the government’s economic policy and that indicators of strong macroeconomic performance have been recognised by society, the paper said.
People were also asked each year about their projections for the Hungarian economy in 2018. At the beginning of the government term, in 2014, only 34% said indicators would be strong in 2018.
The ratio rose to 53% in 2015, 54% in 2016 and 62% in 2017, Magyar Idők said.
