Consumer Price Index Edges Down To 1.9% In February In Hungary

Food, spirits and tobacco prices lifted headline inflation, KSH said. Food prices rose by 3.9 percent and spirits and tobacco prices were up by 6.4 percent.
Household energy prices climbed 1.6 percent and service prices were up by 1 percent.
Clothing prices edged down by 0.3 percent, consumer durable prices dropped by 1 percent and the price of goods in the category that includes vehicle fuel declined by 0.5 percent.
Seasonally-adjusted core inflation, which excludes volatile fuel and food prices, was up by 2.4 percent.
CPI calculated with a basket of goods and services used by pensioners was 2.1 percent.
In a month-on-month comparison CPI was 0.2 percent in February. Service prices and food prices both rose by 0.4 percent.
