Taxi Fare Hike Now Confirmed

Using taxis in Budapest will become more expensive from July as the present Ft 450 basic fee will be raised to Ft 700, under a decision made by city council on Wednesday.

The kilometre rate will increase by Ft 20 and the per minute waiting charge by Ft 5.

The raise was passed with 18 affirmative votes against five dissensions and five abstentions.
