Chain Bridge & Tunnel Works Could Go On For 5 Years
The renovation of the Chain Bridge and the Castle Tunnel may drag on for as many as five years under a proposal on the city council agenda to carry out the two projects one after the other, as opposed to earlier plans to perform both tasks at once.

Former Budapest Transport Centre chief Dávid Vitézy has written on Facebook that the tunnel and bridge would be closed to traffic for twice as long as justified.

Mass transit association KTE says mayor István Tarlós should not accept so easily that the Chain Bridge and its neighbourhood could be closed for four to five years and argues that he should ask the government for more funds.
