'European Art Of Garden Exhibition & Sale', Károlyi Stately Home Park, 1 - 3 June

This year this event has also been incuded in the „Rendez-vous aux Jardins – l’Europe des Jardins”, an initiative launched from France.
The amateurs of nature and flowers as well as gardners and the invied guests responsible of national parks and gardens will listen to the lectures whose main theme will be Management of green spaces, Paleobotanics and aquatic plants.
Daniel Boulens, from France at the Direction des Espaces Verts in Lyon will present Differentiated treatments of green areas, fundamental for the defense of biodiversity, while Dr. Krasimir Kosev, Director of the Botanical Garden of the University of Sofia, will present the Botanic gardens’ raising social role followed by Dr Jürg Schönenberger, from the University of Vienna, Department of Structural and Functional Botany who will present „The eFLOWER project and the reconstruction of the first flower ».
Other important scientific lectures will follow on Friday and Saturday about tree curing in historic parks, fight again hailstorm damages and medicinal plants while more poetic themes will be also considered such as sundials in parks, flower clocks and water lilies.
Various programs around gardening and nature await also the children.
The visitorrs will discover over 90 stands expect some of them offering seeds exchange, and among them a guest from France, the Oeliatec company presenting an interesting weeding system with boiling water might interest the parks and city gardens responsible authorities as it totally excludes insecticides.
Near the usual exhibitions, this year works by painters and aquarellists, is planned to take place a Terrace Garden Exhibition and Competition of Students of Horticulture.
ELTE University translators and students with wheelbarrows will be at the lecturers’, exhibitors’ and the guests’ disposal!
