Rapid Improvements In Health Care Promised
An action plan to improve public health and health care will involve every hospital and will focus on the fight against hospital-acquired infections as well as launching further wage rises in the sector, state secretary for health Anikó Nagy said in an interview to Magyar Idők.

Nagy also promised to introduce new scholarships for nurses and to help health-care employees with accommodation.

The financial and economic management of hospitals will be more strictly supervised in order to reveal the causes of accumulated debts, she added.

A paediatric emergency service scheme that was launched last year will continue and further ambulance vehicles will be purchased, the state secretary said. The service and role of the chief medical officer will be enhanced, with expanded tasks and powers, she added.
