Hungarian Party DK Reports PM Orbán Over Pensions
The Democratic Coalition party has filed an official complaint against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for fraud after Prime Minister’s Office leader Gergely Gulyás disclosed at a government press briefing last week that no individual pension accounts will be introduced in this term of government.

Klára Dobrev, head of the party’s EU election list, said in a press briefing on Tuesday that the government would never create individual pension accounts, despite statements by Prime Minister Orbán in 2010 in which he said that those who switch from private pension funds to the state fund would maintain access to an individual account enabling them to monitor their contributions.

Dobrev said that as a result of “bribery and blackmail”, millions of people lost their savings and that it has now become certain that those funds disappeared in the state system.

Dobrev demanded that the cabinet pay indemnities to those people whom it short-changed.
