Following great successes in previous years the German Business Club (DWC) held its now traditional Business Ball again in 2019 – this time in cooperation with its partners from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pest, and the Austro Hungarian Business Council.
Former Minister Zoltán Balog welcomed the distinguished guests as patron of the event. Notably, during the ball Dr. Arne Gobert received the Officer‘s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary from Pál Schmitt, former President of Hungary,
This high-level recognition by the Hungarian state is for Dr. Gobert's outstanding role in the strengthening of Hungarian-German economic and social relations, his consistent commitment to Hungary, and in recognition of his charitable work.
As the work of the German Business Club has always been and always will be governed by the ideal of German-Hungarian friendship, on this festive occasion the DWC awarded several exceptional people with the DWC Prize of German-Hungarian Friendship.
This year the DWC board had the pleasure to honour Gergely Gulyás the Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, and Dale A. Martin the CEO of Siemens in Hungary for their long and tireless work to further strengthen the relations between the countries and its peoples.
