Hungary is in the period of cluster infections, when the virus spreads via social interaction. The disease can therefore be present anywhere.

It’s vital for everyone to stay home and observe the recommendations and movement restrictions, especially elderly people, students and those who have returned from abroad.

Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said that without the restrictions on movement, Budapest could become a focal point of the epidemic, she therefore asked everyone to respect the rules and regulations put in place.

She added that with the rise in the number of coronavirus patients, everyone is in ever greater danger, there is an ever greater chance of anyone becoming infected.

As seen from the data, coronavirus carries the highest risk for elderly people. Therefore, they should stay home and ask relatives or local authorities to help them shop for groceries and other necessities.
