Bill Gates Recommends Book By Hungarian Psychologist To Find Comfort Amid Global Epidemic

Our lives have changed dramatically due to the global epidemic that we have been living through over the last months. In these challenging times, Bill Gates recommends a book by Hungarian-born author Edith Eva Eger “to find comfort and deal with difficult situations.“
Bill Gates recently shared his book recommendations for the summer on GatesNotes.com, and one of the books on his list is The Choice by Hungarian-born psychologist Dr Edith Eva Eger. Bill Gates writes about the book:
“Her unique background gives her amazing insight, and I think many people will find comfort right now from her suggestions on how to handle difficult situations.” He also describes its story as “kind of hopeful but very tough as well … it’s one hell of a story.”
About Dr Edith Eva Eger
Dr Edith Eva Eger is a Hungarian-born psychologist with an incredible story. She survived the holocaust and dedicated her life to helping other people overcome their own emotional or physical traumas.
She emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 22. She became a psychologist in her forties and later became a successful family therapist. Her speciality is treating emotional and physical trauma. She still practises today, even though she is in her nineties.
Her memoir titled The Choice, was published in 2017. It was a New York Times bestseller and the winner of the National Jewish Book Award and Christopher Award. Her memoir was praised by The New York Times: “I can’t imagine a more important message for modern times.
Eger’s book is a triumph and should be read by all who care about both their inner freedom and the future of humanity.”
