Budapest Bank Rolls Out Cash-Receiving ATMs
Budapest Bank has launched its first cash-receiving ATMs, the state-owned lender announced. The bank has installed this new feature at 41% of its 121 ATMs.

Two more ATMs will be enabled to take cash from clients in the coming weeks and another 20 by the end of the year.

The bank warned that repayment of credit card debt is not possible via ATMs.

The upper limit on cash deposits is Ft 2 million, and no more than 200 banknotes can be deposited in the ATMs at any one time.

The new ATMs also have NFC technology that makes inserting bankcards unnecessary, as the machines can read the cards without contact.

The number of cash deposits at Budapest Bank branches has dropped by 35% year-on-year since the state of emergency was declared on March 28 to counter the pandemic.
