Wizz Air Discounts Investigated By Consumer Protection Authority In Hungary
The GVH has launched an investigation into Wizz Air regarding alleged misleading discount offers, the competition authority announced.

The airline offered a 10% refund in loyalty credit on accommodation reservations made on the website Booking.com between April 11 and July 10, 2019, but in practice the discount was only 5%, the GVH said.

Wizz Air automatically opens a loyalty credit account for clients and accumulates refunds there, which can be used for ticket purchases later. Clients may also transfer money to this account.

Last year, the GVH ordered Wizz Air to pay Ft 250 million in compensation to its clients because of mistakes found in the Wizz Flex flexible ticket purchasing system.

The consumer protection authority also fined Wizz Air Ft 300 million last year, due to anomalies found with five flights.
