25% of Food Products Have Different Quality in Hungary
A quarter of the same-brand food products sold by multinational companies are of different quality in Austria and Germany than in Hungary, the food safety authority Nébih found after completing its three-year examination into the question.

The Nébih examined 312 samples of 117 products in the three countries.

Differences in 25.6% of the products can be explained by different national regulations, local supply and production technologies, the authority added.

In addition, the producers indicated that they also take into account local tastes.

The quality of cheese products differed the most, as they are more locally tailored.

As a result of the investigation, three producers have harmonised the quality of three products, the Nébih added.
