E-Commerce Leaders in Hungary Revealed
The combined gross turnover of the 15 largest online retailers in Hungary reached Ft 463.1 billion in 2024, a 12.4% rise on the previous year, according to PwC Hungary’s Digital Commerce Outlook.

This outpaced the broader domestic e-commerce market, which expanded by 9.7%.

These top 15 firms accounted for 29% of the total online retail turnover.

Their order volumes rose sharply – by 34% year-on-year – to 12.1 million transactions.

The ranking includes only companies with domestic infrastructure, excluding cross-border companies such as Temu. Nonetheless, the Chinese online behemoth recorded some nine million Hungarian orders in 2024, equal to the combined volume of the domestic top ten.

Kifli, a grocery delivery platform launched in 2019 and offering some 12,000 products, came second, followed by MediaMarkt, IKEA, and Tesco.

In the online FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) segment, Kifli led the field, ahead of Tesco and the Rossmann drugstore chain.

Wolt Market, which placed fifth, recorded the fastest growth in the sector, with turnover surging by over 50%.

Meanwhile, the number of Hungarian e-retailers generating annual revenue of above Ft 5 billion rose to 17, with four newcomers joining the ranks.

Collectively, these firms generated Ft 211 billion in turnover and fulfilled 5.6 million orders.

Among the leading names in this cohort were Euronics, Aqua, and iPon.
