Autó Insight: New Car Registrations Climb 10% in Hungary

Sales of electric vehicles surged 48.4pc to 4,618 and sales of plug-in hybrids climbed 95.6pc to 3,403.
Light commercial vehicle sales fell 7.5pc to 7,285.
Alone in April, new car registrations increased 9.7pc year-on-year to 11,832. Excluding re-exports, the number climbed 11.4pc.
Meanwhile, Automotive industry output climbs 3.7pc in March
Output of the automotive industry, Hungary's biggest manufacturing sector, rose 3.7pc year-on-year in March, a detailed reading of data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Wednesday shows.
The automotive segment accounted for 26pc of manufacturing output during the month.
Output of the computer, electronics and optical equipment segment, which accounted for 12pc of manufacturing,surged 22pc.
Output of the food, drinks and tobacco products segment, making up 12pc of manufacturing, climbed 9.2pc.
Output of the electrical equipment segment, accounting for 8.9pc of manufacturing, increased 11.4pc.
KSH confirmed that headline industrial output rose 6.7pc year-on-year in March.
Output climbed 3.7pc when adjusted for the number of workdays.
In a month-on-month comparison, output rose a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 3.1pc.
For the period January-March, industrial output rose 1.0pc year-on-year.
