Short-Term Home Rentals Fall in Budapest
Short-term home rental prices, mostly used by students, dropped 10% in central Budapest and 14% in regional centres, from the first half of last year, property agent Otthon Centrum said. Rents rose 4% in other areas of Budapest and 10% in smaller cities.

The average monthly Budapest rent dropped from Ft 150,000 to Ft 140,000.

The cost of a one-bedroom flat in Budapest is Ft 100,000 per month, without much disparity across the city. A downtown two-bedroom flat costs Ft 168,000, as compared to Ft 147,000 in Buda and Ft 131,000 in outlying districts.

A three-bedroom flat costs nearly Ft 210,000 in Buda, Ft 178,000 in the inner city and Ft 153,000 in outer districts.

In larger university towns the average rent is Ft 110,000 in Debrecen, Ft 108,000 in Győr, Ft 85,000 in Miskolc, Ft 99,000 in Pécs and Ft 100,000 in Szeged.
