Founded in 1771, the country's oldest botanical gardens are a real 'green island' in Budapest's concrete jungle. Over 8,000 plant species in the 3.5-hectare park and the hothouses, of a total area of some 2,000 sq m, help visitors become aware of the meaning of biodiversity - as the video below shows.
