New Names for Budapest District Sectors
The Party Zone in Budapest’s Seventh District will be renamed the Király-negyed (Royal Quarter) after the local council approved a long-term cultural strategy for the district, it was announced on the district’s Facebook page.

The plan defines as areas for development, bringing Jewish culture, traditional crafts and young designers to exhibition spaces and supporting the entry of the creative industry (fine and applied arts, musicians, theatre and film artists and architects) into the market after they obtain their diploma.

According to the approved plans the current area sector names (Belső-, Középső- and Külső- Erzsébetváros) will be changed to Király-negyed, Erzsébet-negyed and István-negyed.

The Seventh District refers to the neighbouring Eighth District as an example, where ten neighbourhoods have been labelled with names on street signs.
